'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Cress 'good to be back'

Rotherham United skipper, Ryan Cresswell said he was pleased to be back after returning on Saturday afternoon to captain the side to a nil-nil draw against Bury at Don Valley.

Speaking to MillersPlayer, after the game, Cress said, 'It was good to be back amongst it and I enjoyed it.'

The twenty-two year old has been out for about twelve weeks with one injury closely followed by another and said, 'It's about time I was back isn't it! It's been very frustrating and it can get you down but you just have to get your head down and get yourself fit and I can still be fitter than I was today.

'I thought I'd scored in the first half but I just turned round and it had gone wide so it wasn't to be but it would have added that bit of spice against my old club. I thought we were unlucky not to get all three points.

Asked if things had changed since he's been out Ryan said, 'I don't think so. I know my job which I thought I did well today. The gaffer likes what I bring to the side and he says I'm loud on the pitch and I can organise and make sure that the players are doing their jobs.'

Ryan thinks he's been unlucky with injuries this season saying, 'I've done my shoulder in a tackle, which I don't think anyone else has done it that way this season. Then, coming back from that injury I went over on my ankle in training but I hope that's behind me now. But, that's all behind me now and we've got to put some results together and get this team out of this league.'
