'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Callum happy to be staying

Rotherham United defender, Callum Kennedy says he is pleased to have been able to sign for the Millers until the end of the season.

Originally here for a month, from Swindon Town, the twenty-one year old was wanted back by new Swindon manager, Paul Hart so he could take a look at him. But, after Millers Manager, Ronnie Moore spoke to Hart, the Millers were able to sign him for longer. Speaking to MillersPlayer, Callum said, 'It wasn't certain if I went back to Swindon that I'd be playing there so the gaffer here asked if I could stay and get some experience and Paul Hart was kind enough to let me stay.

'There's nothing like first team football and I've thoroughly enjoyed it here. My debut against Oxford didn't go to plan but I got myself back in the team and I want to keep my place now. I go out there and play my game and if it's good enough to keep my place in the team then I'm delighted, though I still think I've got more to offer. '

Talking about the game on Friday against Chesterfield, Callum said, 'I can't wait. It will be my first game on TV so that's a nice added bonus. Once you get on the pitch I think you will forget about the cameras.

'I think the promotion race is still wide open. Every time one slips up it seems that everyone slips up and I think if we can get some wins under our belt we will be alright.'
