'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Moore 'it will be a fantastic game'

Rotherham United Manager, Ronnie Moore said that he'd like to be out there playing on Friday night against Chesterfield.

Speaking to MillersPlayer, Moore said, 'It's a derby game at a brand new stadium, full house with two and a half thousand of our own supporters, great pitch but I'd rather be out there than standing watching but it will be a fantastic game and if you can't get motivated to play with that then there's something wrong!

'Chesterfield are top of the league because they are a good side and we know that. But we aren't playing Real Madrid, they aren't invincible, we're playing Chesterfield and Chesterfield. People talk about their attacking minded players but we've got as many attacking minded players in our side.

'I think it will be down to the defences. I think if our defence play well we are more than capable of winning but if theirs doesn't play well we are capable of winning.'

Asked if the Sky camera's will make his team want to play better, Moore said, 'To be honest, it wouldn't affect me if we were absolutely awful and won one-nil in the ninety-fifth minute with a penalty. At this stage it's about getting the wins and how you get them doesn't really matter. Recently we've played like Real Madrid and got nothing and played like the Dog and Duck and won.

'Yes, it would be really nice on TV for people to say, 'what a good team Rotherham are' but both sides want to play football and let's hope the best side win.

'We've had decent results against Chesterfield recently including a fantastic win early in the season and a great win last year at the old Saltergate ground, which could have gone either way. It was really tight but we pinched it late on.

'I've never been to the B2net. I've seen pictures but I've never watched a game there so I don't know too much about it. It will be great for our supporters to go to a brand new stadium and think in eighteen months time we'll be in something like this and we'll be filling it. There's no doubt that once you get into a new stadium the crowds will come back and you attract the better players.'
