'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - View from the Opposition - Chesterfield

Rotherham United Manager, Ronnie Moore slammed the gutless performance of his players last night after their five-nil defeat at the B2net to Chesterfield but Spireites Manager, John Sheridan hadn't enough praise for his side.

Speaking to SpireitesPlayer after the game, Sheridan said, 'As a manager, it's probably the best performance I've had and it was probably our best performance of the season against a team who I expect to be up there at the end of the season.

'I want to give all the credit to the players. I thought the first half performance was top drawer and we got the goals and got ourselves in a winning position then we went on to win comfortably. The way we played, the tempo, people putting balls in dangerous areas and our first half performance was very, very good.

'I'm proud of my players tonight, I thought they were excellent. In the squad there's so many players who can play but luckily for me, I'm picking the right players at the moment.'

Hat-trick scorer, Jack Lester, spoke after the game, saying, 'It's my third hat-trick for Chesterfield and it was a very enjoyable one in front of the cameras and a full house. It's a great feeling and I've really enjoyed myself tonight. It was a wonderful night.'
