RUFC - Crisis talks?

Rotherham United Manager, Ronnie Moore and Chairman Tony Stewart are said to be heading for crisis talks after Friday`s humiliating defeat against Chesterfield.

The defeat was perhaps made worse by the fact that the game was live on Sky TV and afterwards he told the watching world that he was 'embarrassed` by the defeat and, in obvious anger, said that if he`d had a gun he`d have shot his team.

Speaking to The Star he said, 'Managers are under pressure and, as manager here, I was under pressure from day one but we are still in there with a chance of going up.` When it was suggested to him that recent results hadn`t been good enough, he walked away.

It`s understood that Mr Stewart is unhappy about the recent results and performances and he can`t have failed to hear the mumblings and discontent of the fans, who were all expecting to go up automatically, which is looking less and less likely as the season comes to an end.

Being in the ground early enough to see the Millers warming up, even then, for some unknown reason they looked uncomfortable and maybe nervous and from kick-off Chesterfield were always the better side, always two yards in front, always with better control on the ball.

From the start of the season the Millers were always one of the fancied teams to go up - now they are just another club hoping for a play-off place. With teams playing on Tuesday night, it`s quite possible that Rotherham, who are in sixth place at the moment, will drop out of the play-off spots. Of course, it`s still possible that the Millers will get into the automatic spots - but probable? Honestly, I doubt it. But I hope I'm wrong.
