'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Mullins 'probably got what we deserved'

Rotherham United defender, Johnny Mullins said he was absolutely gutted after the defeat at Chesterfield on Friday.

Looking very dejected, speaking to MillersPlayer after the game, the former Stockport man said, 'There's been a lot of anger in the dressing room as well as a lot of disappointment. We've let ourselves down, the club down and the manager down.

'Chesterfield are a good side but I don't think they are five-nil better than us. They play at a very high tempo and it was just wave after wave and we never coped with it all night long and we probably got what we deserved. Organisation wise we were all over the show in fact if you go from one to eleven all the points that need to be addressed will be addressed.

'It poses questions as to whether we are the team we inspire to be and we've got to answer those questions. After tonight I think it's time to get back to basics, go to Lincoln and set our stall out, go to Wycombe and we will need to address it after every game and get as many points as possible. It's all right setting targets but after tonight there's no targets we will reach if we carry on playing like that.

'As much as we are disappointed we have to draw a line under it and look to the future. It's going to be a hard weeks training but I feel a win and a good performance at Lincoln is imperative.

'It's done now and it hurts and it will carry on hurting but we are the only ones who can put it right now next Friday.'
