RUFC - Moore 'I never saw it coming'

Rotherham United Manager, Ronnie Moore said that his team on Friday night made Jack Lester look like Ronaldinho.

Speaking to MillersPlayer after the five-nil defeat, Moore said, 'It was embarrassing how easy Lester went round our centre-halves, or,' he corrected himself, 'centre-half.

'I think Lester is a good player but Chesterfield don't play him away from home for a reason. So, we know he's going to be top of his game at home, you know he's going to come short, you know he's going to go over the top. But we were beaten too easy. We let him roll past us two or three times. And we can't have defending like that. The two goals in the second half went straight through the middle I could have got round the centre-half with the defending they were doing. We want that back four to be rock solid.

'I mean five-nil in a derby game in all my time as a manager of Rotherham United I've never seen them perform like that. The thing is I've never seen it coming. You just don't see that type of performance in a game like this. The first thing you've got to do is come here and roll your sleeves up but we were so poor they've gone through us like a knife through butter.

'If they perform like that we'll be lucky if we get to the play-offs.'
