RUFC - Lids 'Ian is a top professional'

Rotherham United caretaker Manager, Andy Liddell says that hat-trick hero, Ian Thomas-Moore is a 'top professional.`

Speaking to Les Payne of The Star after the game at Lincoln on Friday night, where he made a few changes to the side that lost to Chesterfield the week before, Lids said he`d had no worries about putting Thomas-Moore in the starting eleven before top scorer Adam Le Fondre.

'I made a point to the players in the friendly we played at Chesterfield, that he`d worked so hard yet his dad had just lost his job.

'We asked him to play up front and to work as hard as he possibly could. He could have turned round to us and said 'eh, my dad`s just lost his job`, but he ran around like a mad man and he ran around at Lincoln like a mad man and worked really hard and he`s got three goals.

'Whether he`s Ronnie`s son or not, he`s a good player and a top professional.`

Thomas-Moore said, 'It was difficult for me. You can`t just park it to one side when something like that happens. My dad made a big decision to bring me here and I could have jacked it in because my dad`s gone but I`m a professional with another year on my contract and I`ll play on and do as well as I can.

'It was a big decision to make to drop Alfie and I was delighted to repay the faith and start scoring.`
