RUFC - Millers wait on Cresswell and Fenton

Rotherham United will wait until the last possible minute to see if either Nick Fenton or Ryan Cresswell will be fit for the game on Saturday after both being left out on Tuesday night with injuries.

Speaking to MillersPlayer, Andy Liddell said, 'It's going to be a late check on Nick Fenton and Ryan Cresswell either Friday or Saturday morning. I think Nick will probably have a better chance than Ryan but I'm not one hundred per cent sure on that. It's not often you get two centre-halves injured on the same day and we'll just have to go with what we've got. We missed them because they're good defenders and you are going to miss their size, presence and command in the area. It's frustrating but there's nothing you can do about it.

'Cress was feeling his thigh. We trained on Saturday and he said he'd carry on and maybe he made it a bit worse. It wasn't the training that did it, he was just generally stiff and tired which happens when you've had a serious injury because when you first come back your body is running on adrenalin and then you get into playing and training and you can pick up little niggles. Hopefully it's not too serious.'

Asked, if Fenton and Cresswell aren't fit for the game on Saturday, who will play, Lidds said they would have to make a decision later on in the week.
