RUFC - Lidds 'Good chance for Annerson'

Rotherham United Caretaker Manager, Andy Liddell says that Jamie Annerson should take the chance he now has, as he will be deputising for Andy Warrington on Saturday at Cheltenham.

Speaking to MillersPlayer Lidds said, ''It's a good chance for Jamie because playing in the reserves all season is different to playing in the first team. But, saying that, I've treated every reserve game I've been in charge of as a first team game and he's been excellent in the reserve games.

'And I think he's done well when he's played in the first team this year and he's probably a little bit unfortunate that we've got such an experienced first team goalkeeper. But, not he's got his chance and if he does well then he'll stay in the first team.

'He's not a kid. He's played a few games and he's a big strong lad. He's confident and he's a good goalkeeper.'

Speaking about Andy Warrington, Lidds said, 'He's had the gash on his foot operated on. He had to wait an extra day because the specialist surgeon wasn't available but it's done now. It was a pretty grusome injury. He's out this week but for how much longer I don't really know. After the stitches have all settled down he'll be having it re-x-rayed to see if there's a fracture or not.'
