'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Cress on the new Manager

Rotherham United skipper, Ryan Cresswell says that the appointment of Andy Scott as Manager will give the team another lift.

Speaking to MillersPlayer, the former Bury defender said, 'There will be some new ideas before now and the end of the season and we're looking forward to it.'

Admitting the appointment had come as a bit of a shock, Ryan said, 'The gaffer phoned me up and introduced himself to me and we've had a word today and now we are looking forward to a good run-in. He got us all sat down and had a word and wanted to make sure that we were all driving for the same goal and to make sure that no-one is going off on their own and having a sulk about things. At the end of training he's pulled us all in again and reminded us what he wants from us. Basically, he's come in to do a job, to get us up which hopefully he'll do and we can all be happy and move on.

'The hunger and desire that the lads showed in the first training session for the new gaffer was all there to see. He was pleased, we were pleased and hopefully we can get a result on Saturday and start it off well. We know what we need to do on Saturday and if we get a run going who's to say we can't go on and win every game. We showed earlier in the season that we can go on runs like that but we just need to do it now.

'It's all about organisation in this league and the most organised sides seem to do better than others. I'm not saying that some managers aren't professional but it's about the way they do the job and the gaffer is obviously very professional in his approach and he did it at Brentford so let's hope he does the same here.'

Asked if he expected Andy Scott to make many changes to the side for tomorrows game with Hereford, Ryan smiled and said, 'We'll see.'
