RUFC - Cress thinks we can still make play-offs

Rotherham United skipper, Ryan Cresswell thought they were unlucky not to come away from Don Valley on Saturday with all three points.

Speaking after the goalless draw with Hereford, Cress told MillersPlayer that he thought the side was well organised. 'I thought we just came short of getting all three points today. Every chance we had seemed to either hit their 'keeper or hit a defender on the line at the last minute.

'I had a couple of chances myself that were headed off the line or the 'keeper has pulled off a save. It was just one of those games where we`ve thrown absolutely everything at them and not come away with three points.

'We go into every game to win and the spirit here is always high. We should have won today, but we haven`t so we`ve just got to move on. It`s been a long campaign and we`ll be devastated if we don`t make the play-offs and it will be disappointing if we have to go another season in this league.`

Asked about his fitness after missing out on games this season, the former Bury defender said, 'I feel fine. It`s just a matter of doing extra on the training ground which I`ve been doing and Lidds (Andy Liddell) and Warney (Paul Warne) set some stuff up and I`ve just got to do it. But, I do feel ready and I feel that I could go an extra ten minutes at the end of the game and even longer. '

Ryan was asked about the change in managership he`s seen while he`s been with the Millers, which is three this season. 'It`s been difficult,` he admitted, 'because different managers have different ideas. But this week the gaffer has installed a few of his own ideas and we tried to take that onto the pitch today. It`s been difficult at times because you seem to slip into the old regime but he accepts that because we`ve only had two days with him.

'All managers have different ways of organising. You see it in the dressing room before games and you see different things of the walls but the way that Andy Scott does it, it just makes you perk up a little bit more, look at more ideas and take more notice and get on with it.`
