'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Andy Scott pre-Northampton

Rotherham United Manager, Andy Scott faces his first away game with the Millers this evening when they take on Northampton Town at Sixfields Stadium.

Speaking to MillersPlayer about the forthcoming game, Scott he was surprised to see Northampton towards the foot of the table. 'They've got some good players,' he said, 'and certainly the Manager, Gary Johnson, is experienced. They've got goalscorers and some ability and, I think, what they've struggled with recently is lack of confidence, but it seems that they've got that back.

'The reports are that they were very, very good against Wycombe on Saturday and being two-nil up at half-time they will be disappointed that they didn't win the game. But, the fact that they drew with Wycombe two-two and with our game on Saturday, shows what this league is all about and that anyone can beat anyone else on their day. It's about consistency, having standards and meeting those and being relentless in your search for wins but, if you drop off anything, then you are going to struggle.'

Saying he wasn't going to give away any secrets about the way his side would be set out tonight, Scott said, 'We are looking at different areas that we feel we can exploit and we need to win and get the three points. We said that on Saturday but the time is running out now and we need to get maximum points at Northampton to have any chance of getting into the play-offs.'
