'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - View from the Opposition - Gillingham

Rotherham United Manager, Andy Scott said that his team weren`t good enough after the one-nil loss at Don Valley to Gillingham.

Meanwhile, Gills Manager, Andy Hessenthaler told Radio Kent that he thought the rotation of his team had paid off.

'I was mindful of having two games in a short space of time and the travelling,` Hessenthaler said, 'and I decided to go the way we did which, I think, even surprised a few players. And, obviously, we came out with a fantastic result.

'I thought we had good balance within the team and especially the back four and I thought the boys worked their socks off. I think it would have been an injustice if we hadn`t come away with three points today. Over the ninety minutes we created better chances and if it had been nil-nil I`d have been quite disappointed. Cody (McDonald) could have got two or three today and their 'keeper made some good saves. I don`t think the pitch particularly helped, especially for us in the first half and for Adam Le Fondre, for Rotherham, at the end where I think the pitch made it difficult for him`

What do you think? Were Gillingham the better team? Should we have taken our chances when we had them? Should the pitch take some of the blame?
