RUFC - Oli Banks given contract

Rotherham United have offered young Midfielder, Oli Banks a contract today.

Oli, son of former Miller, Ian Banks and Nicky Law's cousin, has been training with the first team and has been an unused sub for a couple of games this season and Manager, Andy Scott told MillersPlayer, 'I've seen Oli play in the reserves and seen him in training.

'He's got good build, good physic and his passing technique is good. There's obviously areas of the game that he needs to improve on but it's good having a young player who can come into the squad that has got potential.

'But, the difference between getting there and fulfilling your potential is huge and he's got to have the right attitude to make sure it works and if he buys into what we want to do here and how we're going to achieve it then I'm sure he'll have a decent career in front of him.'

Head of Youth, Steve Thornber said, 'Oli's been training with the first team all season and he's been loaned out a couple of times this season for his development and to get games in. Talent wise, he can pass a ball, he's the right side and he glides and it's down to him how far he goes.'

Vital Rotherham send our Congratulations to Oli
