'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Scott hopes to keep Taylor and Law

Rotherham United Manager, Andy Scott has spoken to both Ryan Taylor and Nicky Law about new contracts.

Speaking to MillersPlayer Scott said, 'I've sat down with both those lads, who are under twenty-four, because that's the priority, about the situation. Ryan has been here a long time and has done very well in the last couple of years and has a lot of potential and Nicky has come in and shown what a good player he is. I'm very confident that I can get more out of both of them and I believe that playing first team football is their route to higher leagues and ultimately where they want to end up.

'We'll be doing what we can to keep them, within our financial constraints, because it's very important that we keep our best players.

'The other lads who are out of contract I'll be looking at their situations and speaking to their agents in the next few days to see what their position is and whether they will be wanting to sign again or whether they've got new pastures to move on to.'

I think Andy Scott will realise what a difficult task he has in trying to hang onto Taylor and Law after, as near as damn it, missing out on promotion this year but let's hope they will both see a bigger picture than that and that Scott can 'sell' next season to them.
