RUFC - Scott doesn't want the season to fade away

Rotherham United Manager, Andy Scott says he doesn`t want the season to just fade away.

With two games left Scott, who has only been in charge for the last three games, told David Beddows of The Advertiser, 'I`ve seen good signs in the three matches so far but I`ve also seen things that we need to work on. I want the next two matches to be an indication of just how much people want to be here. Everyone is under scrutiny; it`s as simple as that. I`ve got general ideas of who I`m going to keep but there`s still all to play for. Some haven`t had a chance and there`s some I`ve seen who can maybe change my mind.

'The last two games and every day in training is an opportunity to show they have the right application to be worth a place here next season. I`m still assessing the squad and it`s a good opportunity for me to see how they deal with different situations, playing away from home and how they deal with not getting into the play-offs. And, I`m looking at the whole picture now without the intensity of desperately trying to get in the play-offs.

'And, we have to get that winning mentality back.`

The Millers have won just six games since the start of 2011, although the majority of them have been with a high score and the last one was the six-nil win at Lincoln seven games ago. Personally, I don't think that it's that we can't score, it's more that we aren't taking our chances in front of goal - which, for me, has been happening for at least the last two seasons.
