Rotherham United Manager, Andy Scott might still be waiting to see the Millers win under his reign but he was quite happy this afternoon after his teams fightback from two-down to get a point.
Speaking to Radio Sheffield, Scott said, 'That's the closest to a full ninety minutes performance we've had but, unfortunately, the first ten minutes were horrific.
'We didn't start well enough but, I thought, after the first fifteen or twenty minutes, we were really strong and kept the ball well. Maybe we played too many square passes without going forward but once we got our first goal we looked like a side who would go on and win the game. I think we've probably created more good chances today than we have done since I came.
'Aldershot changed their formation to combat us but we still looked very strong and we started the second half in the same vein and once we got the equaliser we felt we could push on. We had some very good chances and the ball was flashing across the goal and the 'keeper made a couple of good saves and Alfie had one that whizzed past the post.
'The last five or ten minutes was a little bit fractured with free-kicks and throw-ins, stoppages and substitutions and the flow of the game slowed down which didn't help us and we weren't able to get the winner that we deserved after the the first ten minutes.
Asked how, as a Manager, he reacts when a team goes two-down early on, Scott said, 'I was stood on the touchline thinking this could go one of two ways. We could respond or we could fold. And I was really hoping against hope that it wasn't going to be the fold option and it wasn't. They responded very well and I was delighted with that. As a group we all rallied together. I didn't go mad at half-time, we just tweaked a few things because we were in control. We did it the right way but just couldn't get that winner.
'They've take an lot of knocks recently and the players have underachieved and we all know that. And, there's no point banging on about it because we know it's happened and that's why I'm here to do something about it.
