RUFC - Scott - I'll get Alfie fitter and better

Rotherham United Manager, Andy Scott has told Les Payne of The Star that he can make top scorer, Adam Le Fondre a better player.

After Alfie scored the two goals on Saturday that got the Millers a point at Aldershot, Scott said, 'I told him what I wanted and I`m delighted that he showed he can do it and that it was certainly there for all to see.`

Those two goals took Alfie to twenty-four for the season and it was looking as though his goals had dried up a little, being only the seventh since the start of the year. But, from all accounts, Alfie looked on top form on Saturday and seems to enjoy playing alongside Tom Pope, who has always seem to be a great provider for his goals.

Scott went on to say, 'I`ll get Alf fitter and make him a better player. I`ll show him better runs and make us a better team to be able to get him on the ball. He`s a goalscorer and you can`t give up on goalscorers. '

As fans, we can`t really ask for better than that, can we?

Sounds as though he has seen something already which could help both Alfie and your club next season.

He certainly seems to be throwing himself into things - can't be bad, eh

It seems the new "gaffer" isn't happy with the levels of fitness. Should Paul Warne be worried?
