RUFC - Chairman to give Scott 'the money'

Rotherham United Chairman, Tony Stewart will give Manager, Andy Scott the resources to mount another promotion push next season.

With ten players out of contract it will give Scott the chance to remove the 'old wood` and fetch in the players he thinks will help take the Millers into League One.

Speaking to The Advertiser, Mr Stewart said,` We will have one of the top budgets for League Two, and it has been that way since I`ve been here.

'I`m disappointed that we haven`t gone up this season because we were on target but nothing has affected the drive and ambition here.

'We`ve turned a new page here with a dynamic new manager. He`s grabbed hold of the club, he`s a workaholic, we like the methodology and the fans are going to see changes that they will welcome.`

sigh - thing is, we`ve heard all this before haven`t we. When Ronnie Moore was appointed the Chairman said 'it was a great day for Rotherham United` and that he had employed someone with 'ability, drive, enthusiasm and someone who could take us forward.` Well, he didn`t take us that far forward, we are still in the same league as we were then. It`s OK having a 'top budget` as long as you`ve got the right man in there to spend it - and
I actually do think that Andy Scott might be that man and has the motivation to take this club higher.

I hope I`m right.
