RUFC - Millers NOT made enquiry about Connell

Rotherham United have not made a bid for Grimsby Town`s top scorer, Alan Connell joint-manager, Rob Scott told this is Grimsby.

Rumours had been circulating that Andy Scott, brother to Rob, had enquired about the striker, who he let go when he was at Brentford, but Rob Scott refutes this, saying, 'We`ve had no contact from Rotherham, or anyone, about Alan Connell and, I don`t think there`s any chance at Rotherham with Andy.

'We don`t want to be seen selling our best players and as far as we are concerned, Alan is contracted here and we`re expecting him back pre-season.

'Saying that, he`s done well throughout the season and will have turned a few heads. We aren`t naïve and we know people may be interested and if clubs do enquire about him then we will go to the Chairman and discuss any offer but he won`t be leaving for nothing if he does go.`
