RUFC - A Look at the 12th May

RUFC - A Look at the 12th May

12 May 2010 - What a difference a year makes. This time last year we were getting ready for a long trip to Aldershot for the first leg of the semi-final play-offs.

Manager, Ronnie Moore, was worried about the lack of goals having only scored three in the previous nine games - a penalty and two free-kicks - none from open play.

Adam Le Fondre was expecting it to be a cagey game and he also said that he couldn't guarantee that he would be with the Millers for the next season (sounds familiar that)

12 May 2009 - This time two years ago David Haggerty signed a new one year deal with the club.

It was also discovered that the Millers had been making enquiries about Kevin Ellison

12 May 2008 - It was on this day that the rumblings about us moving away from our spiritual home, Millmoor, started to appear.

12 May 2007 - The Chuckle Brothers were thrilled that John Breckin had returned to the club, saying 'we think it's the final piece of the jigsaw.'

12 May 2006 - Five years ago we were talking about moving to purpose built 15,000 all seater new ground. There had been a meeting between the Rotherham United Board, Mike Cuff, who was chief executive of Rotherham Titans and Rotherham Borough Council, which Chairman, Dennis Coleman, said was 'very positive and meaningful.' He also stressed that 'it wouldn`t just be a sports stadium but a community stadium, complete with retail and perhaps hotel facilities and that it would form a real asset for this town.'

Haven't we heard that recently
