RUFC - Scott wants quick decisions

RUFC - Scott wants quick decisions

Rotherham United Manager, Andy Scott is expecting to start hearing from the six players he has offered new contracts to by the end of next week.

The six are Ryan Taylor, Nicky Law, Jason Taylor, Jamie Annerson, Dale Tonge and Ollie Banks.

Ryan Taylor and Law, along with Adam Le Fondre, are interesting former Millers boss, Alan Knill, who is now in charge of Scunthorpe. Ollie Banks, who scored a goal on his debut last Saturday, hinted that he would be staying earlier in the week.

Speaking to David Beddows of The Advertiser, Scott said, 'Jamie (Annerson) is a young goalkeeper who has grasped his chance in recent weeks while Dale (Tonge), who has had his problems with injuries, has got good energy and I`ve seen enough of him to realise he can be a good member of the team.

'Jason (Taylor) is a winner and he`s a doer, the type you need. Oliver (Banks) has done well and, of course, got his first goal against Torquay.`

Asked about Tom Pope and Mark Bradley, who he has transfer listed, Scott said that he had done it now so they have more time to find a new club.
