RUFC - New boss wants at least six new signings

Rotherham United Manager, Andy Scott wants to bring in at least six new players before the new season starts with the priority being a centre-back.

Speaking to The Star, Chairman, Tony Stewart said, 'Andy and I are having a meeting to discuss his transfer targets and see where we are. He is working hard to bring in at least six players.`

Mr Stewart has agreed to fund his managers spending saying, 'It`s not all about money. It`s about getting the right mentality and making sure that we work hard as a team to achieve our goals.`

Earlier this month Luke Ashworth, Stephen Brogan, Jamie Green, Grant Darley, Kevin Ellison and Nick Fenton were released while Mark Bradley and Tom Pope were transfer listed.

Jamie Annerson, Nicky Law, Jason Taylor, Ryan Taylor, Dale Tonge and Ollie Banks have all been offered extensions to their contracts and the club are expecting to hear from them later this week.
