'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - A Look Back in the Archives - 5th June

What's happened on this day in the past ...

5 June 2010

This time last year, Adam Le Fondre's representative, Jesse Learoyd-Hill, said that there was no truth in the rumour that the striker had been linked with Derby County or Leicester City. Mr Learoyd-Hill said that there was a verbal agreement that if a Championship club came in for Alfie then he could go but there had been no bids.

5 June 2009

Two years ago, then Manager, Mark Robins, said he was 'made up' that Tom Pope had agreed to join the Millers. 'I knew he was the man for us,' Robins said after paying £150,000 to Crewe for the tall striker.

5 June 2007

On this day the Millers lost Martin Woods to neighbours Doncaster Rovers after using a clause in his contract that said he could move on a free if Rotherham were relegated. A Rovers club official said that they had 'pulled off a big coup.'

It was also on this day, three years ago, that the 'Millermen' CD was on sale again. It would set you back just a fiver.
Millermen, Millermen, the more they try to put us down the more we'll rise again!
Millermen, Millermen, in red and white we'll stand and fight were Millermen!

- now come on then, you're all singing it aren't you!

5 June 2006

Five years ago today then Manager, Alan Knill, was showing an interest in Pablo Mills of Derby County.

With the 'last' football of the English season taking place yesterday, with England's draw at Wembley against Switzerland, things are going to be quiet on the footballing front.
