'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Taylor found it 'hard' to leave Millers

Former Rotherham United striker, Ryan Taylor joined Championship side Bristol City today and said that he's looking forward to the challenge it will bring.

Speaking to Bristol City Player, the twenty-three year old said, 'I've been in touch with the gaffer for about two weeks although other clubs were after me. But, after seeing the facilities here and the ambitions that the manager, Keith Millen, has, I just couldn't turn the deal down. I'm looking forward to working with the manager and hopefully I can push hard now and show everybody what I can do.

'It's a massive step up from League Two to the Championship and some people will maybe think it's too much of a step but a lot of people have done it and I'll work hard to make sure I am one of those people who are successful.

'It was hard to leave Rotherham because the club has helped me a lot in my career and I've been there ever since I was sixteen. But, although it was a hard decision, nobody in their right mind would turn this kind of opportunity down.'

City have a few strikers who will be in front of young Tayls I would think but I wish him all the best
