'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Foster joined after words from Scott

Rotherham United defender, Luke Foster says that he is hoping to become a better player under the management team at the club.

Speaking to The Star, the twenty-five year old who has recently joined the Millers from Stevenage said, 'I'm only twenty-five so I'm not the finished article yet. I played a big part in Stevenage's promotion campaign last year so I've shown what I can do at this level and I want to become a better player and stay here for as long as possible.'

Mexborough born Luke started his career with Sheffield Wednesday but failed to make the grade there and after numerous loan deals eventually moved to Lincoln City before going to play for Stalybridge Celtic where Oxford picked him up. He made over one hundred appearances for the U's before moving onto Mansfield then Stevenage.

Luke says that Millers Manager, Andy Scott, persuaded him to move back to South Yorkshire and says, 'The manager has got a lot going for him and what he said to me when I first arrived filled me with confidence.

'I'd mutually agreed something with another club over the 'phone but then I got a call from Rotherham saying they were interested in signing me and that blew everybody else out of the water.'
