RUFC - Scott surprised Taylor chose City

Rotherham United Manager, Andy Scott is expecting a six figure fee from Bristol City for striker Ryan Taylor.

Because Taylor is under twenty-four, and despite the fact that he was out of contract with the club, league rules determine the Millers are entitled to compensation.

Ryan, and the club, had already agreed a deal with Millwall and the Millers Manager was surprised that the striker decided to go to City instead.

Speaking to MillersPlayer Scott spoke about the already agreed deal with Millwall, that Taylor eventually turned down, saying , 'The fee we agreed with Millwall was a substantial one, with bits and pieces added on depending how well he did.

'We felt it was a fair offer, though we probably could have got more, and I spoke to Kenny Jacket a few times and they were keen on Ryan and I was surprised he went to Bristol City because it looked like he was going to go to Millwall. But that's his decision and we wish him well.

'Hopefully we can now come to some agreement with Bristol City and move on.'
