'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Scott 'all coming together nicely'

Rotherham United Manager, Andy Scott says, although he is still speaking to a couple of players he`d like to have in his squad, he thinks that it`s coming to the end of the recruitment stage.

'We`re a little bit light in a couple of areas. There are still players available and we`ll wait and see what happens with those but we are delighted with the squad that we`ve produced and the Chairman is delighted too.

'It`s all coming together nicely, it`s just the final piece of the jigsaw that needs to be put in but I`m not rushing into it. The players that we`ve signed have taken a lot of getting and there`s been a lot of negotiations but it`s proved to be worthwhile in the end.`

Talking to MillersPlayer about the likes of Danny Schofield and Ben Pringle joining the Millers, Scott said, 'It`s a big boost for the football club, and for me, that players like that are willing to believe in what we are trying to do here and come and sign for us. These are the type of player I want to attract. I`ve been talking to others in the Championship and the Premier League but whether they come to fruition or not is another matter but we are doing our best and I`m putting in the hours and the phone calls and trying to persuade players that this is the right place for them. And, fortunately, with players like Danny and Ben it will show other players that I`m serious and that we are forming a squad that is capable of challenging and that have the qualities to play good, attractive football and will be a force to be reckoned with.

'It`s all coming together nicely, it`s just the final piece of the jigsaw that needs to be put in but I`m not rushing into it. The players that we`ve signed have taken a lot of getting and there`s been a lot of negotiations but it`s proved to be worthwhile in the end.

'I`ll still keep working at it and if they come then great and if they don`t then we have other options as well.`
