RUFC - Scott could bring in more players

Rotherham United Manager, Andy Scott says there are a couple of areas that he would still like to strengthen.

Speaking to MillersPlayer before the first friendly of the season, Scott, who has already signed up seven players on permanent contracts and a goalkeeper on loan, said, 'I'm very pleased in what we have brought in so far although I think we are probably a bit down on numbers and I do feel we could bring in another one or two or maybe more to give us a bit more strength in depth.

'I've got my eye on a couple of players but there's no urgency. We've had a couple of youth team lads training with us and they've been exceptional and we are very pleased with their progress.

'Warney had an operation on his knee in the summer and hasn't been able to take any part in football work and John Mullins is still out too. So, once we get those two back it will help the numbers.

'I want to play everybody against Grimsby, play two elevens, and, as we are down on the numbers a little bit, maybe we'll incorporate two or three of the youth team in there. It's a good opportunity for them and they've done well and not looked out of place in training and it will give me an opportunity to look at them. We'll mix the two teams up and see how they go.

'But Grimsby is all about getting forty-five minutes under your belt fitness wise and so we can go to Portugal and really hit the tactical work there and really tone the fitness and sharpness up.'

Personally, I'd like a list of squad numbers - might give us an idea of who everyone is!
