RUFC - Scott looking to sign Simpson?

Rotherham United Manager, Andy Scott is still keeping an eye on striker, Robbie Simpson.

Simpson, who moved to Huddersfield Town in the summer of 2009, was managed by Scott when he was on loan with Brentford last year.

Speaking to Dom Howson of The Star, Scott said, 'I know Robbie very well. I managed him at Brentford. A couple of staff here have kept in contact with him because he is a good lad. He is a good player and I think he would do well in our side, but there are a lot of factors that would determine whether it would be possible or not.`

The twenty-six year old, who has a degree in sports science and maths, has only made four league starts for the Terriers, and, ironically, his first goal for them was against the Millers in their two-one win in the Johnstone`s Paint Trophy in September 2009.

Carrying on, Scott said that he has been talking to Town`s Manager, Lee Clark over the summer about various things, 'I wouldn`t rule out a deal for Simpson but it`s not something I have actively pursued,` he said.

Of course, if we do sign another striker, then it will again fuel the speculation that Adam Le Fondre is on his way to better things.

I'd be surprised if that happened, Terrier24. I think Alfie is worth a lot more to us that Pringle is to you. I am sure there will have to be money involved for us to let Alfie go
