RUFC - Head-to-Head v The Terriers

Rotherham United entertain League One side, Huddersfield Town this afternoon in the next pre-season friendly at Don Valley.

Huddersfield got to the League One Play Off Final at Wembley at the end of last season but missed out on promotion to Peterborough. Us Millers know how disappointed the Terriers fans must have felt that day, but, as they say, onwards and upwards and good luck to them next season.

In the last two seasons the Millers and Terriers have met in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy. Both times Huddersfield visited Don Valley and both times won. Firstly in 2009 when Peter Clarke and Robbie Simpson put the visitors two up inside the first seven minutes. Adam Le Fondre scored a consolation for the Millers ten minutes before half-time. In November last year, Jordan Rhodes scored in the opening minute with Ryan Taylor getting an equaliser ten minutes later. Rhodes and Benik Afobe scored again before half-time for Town and after half-time a goal from Scott Arfield followed by a second from Afobe put Huddersfield five-one up. Skipper Ryan Cresswell scored on the ninetieth minute to make it five-two.

The last time Rotherham beat Huddersfield Town was in League Two in October 1992 when a Shaun Goater goal at Millmoor was enough to beat the Terriers.
