RUFC - Scott on injuries and trialist

Rotherham United Manager, Andy Scott said he left some players out of the pre-season friendly with Huddersfield yesterday, because they were carrying knocks.

Speaking to MillersPlayer, Scott said, 'Danny Schofield has got a an infection in his toe and he's on antibiotics. He could have played if we'd really pushed it but with him struggling with his foot in the boot but we didn't want to cause any more problems.

'Luke Foster felt a bit of tightness in his hamstring from training this week, so we didn't bother putting him on the bench.

'So, we were down on numbers, but the lads who were involved were excellent.'

Asked about Jeff Smith, who is on trial with the Millers, Scott said, 'I spoke to him on Thursday but it's dependent on a few things at the moment. We will wait to see how things transpire over the weekend and see how we go.'
