'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Scott 'Marshall was excellent'

Rotherham United Manager, Andy Scott said he was disappointed to lose both Marcus Marshall and Lewis Grabban at half-time today.

Both players went off with knocks with Scott saying they didn't want to risk them with so many games coming up.

Speaking about Marshall, who started at right-back, Scott told MillersPlayer, 'He was excellent today.

'We wanted to look at him there and see how he coped with it and he's fitted into that role extremely well and he's really challenging for that spot.'

Asked about Michael Raynes, who made his debut for the Millers today, Scott said, 'I thought he did very well. Gallagher's a good player and Waghorn and Schlupp work extremely hard and have good quality and then they brought Nugent on as well, so it was a good debut for him.

'We've got good options at the back now with Marcus being able to play right-back and we've Troy (Brown) to come back into the side but that's what we built the squad for so that there are competition for places.'

I thought he had a great first half and it was a pity he had to go off
