RUFC - Q & A session with a Pilgrim!

Rotherham United take on Plymouth Argyle on Saturday, for the first time in quite a while and we asked Cobi, a Pilgrims fan, to answer a few of our questions.

How long have you been a Pilgrims fan?

I have been going to home matches for 10 years, away matches for 5 years, Season Ticket holder for 5 years

Can you remember your first game watching Plymouth?

The club's lost in my memory, all I remember is a damp Tuesday night in 2000 at Home Park watching the greens fight it out to a nil nil bore draw

How do you think you will do this year in League Two

We have a new look team, its young but fast. People are seriously underestimating us, we can get into the play offs

Have you got over all that happened to you last season - re the points deductions etc. Are you now managing to pay your players?

No staff or players are paid and its been 9 months now, we still do not have a buyer secured and liquidation before the end of the season still looks very likely.

What players did you bring in during the close season

I honestly don`t want to go through a list. Only 2 of last seasons squad will feature on Saturday. Our best signings are Robbie Williams (LB) and Luke Daley (RW)

Best and worst grounds ever visited?

I really like Cheltenham town's stadium and on the bigger side, Newcastle united is a wonderful stadium. Exeter city for a league 1 club is awful and Bristol city have one of the worst away ends you will ever have to go through.

Is there anything about Plymouth Argyle that we might not know?

In 1973 Argyle played the best team in the world at the time, Santos, in a pre season friendly. Pele played the full ninety minutes and the game ended Plymouth 3 Santos 2. 37 000 people crammed inside to watch.

In your opinion, who is the best ever player you have seen in a Pilgrims shirt

Scott Sinclair spent a 5 month loan period with us and he was truly fantastic. Other players like Ebanks Blake, Halmosi, Jamie Mackie have also been fantastic.

When you hear the name 'Rotherham United` what is the first thing you think about

Its a shame this question because the first thoughts are not exactly good. I think of that strange stadium in which you seem to have no fans on TV. I think of a small club lying on the shadows of Sheffield but I also see a club now with a promising future, with a council ready to put money in and a good manager.

Ed Note - no, that's fine - most of us can't wait to see the back of Don Valley!

Score prediction?

My heart says 3-2

Thanks for taking the time out for answering our questions! Hope you have a good season - except when you play the Millers of course!

I have to agree with you about Exeter's ground, Cobi! I think it's the only ground I've been to where they have trees growing out of the loo!

Yes its not just because we are fierce rivals, when 1300 argyle fans tried to cram into the away end you could'nt see the game. and to top it all off, when i went to flush the loo the chain came of in my hands. pleasure answering them

Yes, we moan about Don Valley (well, I do!) but I suppose we have some things to be thankful for!
