RUFC - Scott 'Lads in good spirits'

Join The Vital Debate

Rotherham United Manager, Andy Scott said that the lads are in good spirit after the two recent away games.

Speaking to MillersPlayer, Scott said, 'They had plenty of rest yesterday and we'll make sure they are looked after before the game on Saturday.'

The Millers go into Saturdays game with Barnet sitting nicely at the top of League Two with nine points out of nine and Scott said, 'To start there is always a good thing because to be there at the end of the season you have to give yourself a chance and we want to be winning games and get the confidence and momentum going. We don't want to be playing catch-up and we've started well so we are there to be shot at, but we know that to get promotion you have to be in the top three so that's where we want to be and we want to stay there. It's going to be a test for us mentally but I think we can handle it. We know what we are about and if we concentrate on what we do then there shouldn't be any problems.'

Asked what he had learnt from him players after the tough games at Plymouth and Crewe, Scott said, 'I've learnt that they've got good spirit and when things aren't going great like when we went a goal down against Plymouth we did extremely well and on Tuesday night at Crewe we know we didn't play as well as we could have done, we gave the ball away cheaply, but we stuck together and were organised. Sometimes you have to dig in and be solid and not found wanting and we found out that we've got a strong unit who are willing to battle for each other.'
