RUFC - Scott 'hard work is paying off'

Rotherham United Manager, Andy Scott says that the hard work and effort that the squad have put in during pre-season and on the training ground has paid off as he sees his side at the top of the league.

Speaking to Les Payne of The Star, Scott said, 'There are things we`ve worked on that have paid off and certainly we saw a reward at Crewe.`

After taking a two-nil lead on Tuesday night then the Alex pulling one back, it was certainly backs-to-the-wall for the Millers but the defenders did their job and Scott said, 'We were solid defensively and showed resilience and determination and the positive thing is that people can see that the results are coming because of the things we are doing, which gives them more belief.`

Speaking to The Advertiser, Scott said that he doesn`t have much time to look at the league table, 'You want to see yourself up there but the games are coming thick and fast and it`s sometimes difficult to look even at other results because you`re concentrating on videos, DVD`s and match reports as well as assessing your squad and injuries.

'When you are playing Saturday-Tuesday-Saturday-Tuesday your feet don`t touch the ground because you`re looking towards the next fixture. But, when time settles down you know where you are.`
