RUFC - More Alfie Saga .....

Rotherham United have been dismissing bids for striker Adam Le Fondre for the last few weeks - the bids have said to come from Sheffield Wednesday, Leicester City, Coventry City and old uncle Tom Cobley and all.

But, this afternoon there seems to be another twist in the tale.

According to Skysports.com twenty-four year old Alfie has actually slapped in a transfer request while telling them that he is 'eager to test himself at a higher level.`

I think we all know that Alfie is in the last year of his contract so can leave after this season for nothing - and I think we all know that the club are expecting around £500,000 for him if he goes before then.

Now this might be right or it might not be right but I`m almost certain that Alfie put a request in during the summer with the club saying, although they didn`t want him to go, if a 'big` club came after him then they wouldn`t stop him going - and this has been repeated numerous times since the season began. Plus, Manager, Andy Scott has been quick to tell anyone who will listen that Alfie is in his plans.

What I think the fans need is for Alfie to come on the radio or Millers Player and let us hear, from his own mouth, what he wants and if he has put in a transfer. Because, only then, will we really know the truth.
