'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Scott expects Alfie to be moving on ...

Rotherham United Manager, Andy Scott says that he is hoping to do some 'more business` before the transfer window closes.

Speaking to MillersPlayer, Scott said, 'I think it`s been well documented about Alf (Adam Le Fondre) and the interest we`re receiving over him and, as a club, I think we`ve come to the conclusion that he will be moving on.

'It`s fair to say that he`s applied himself excellently throughout the pre-season and early part of this season and clubs have recognised that and we can`t stand in the lads way. But, we`ve got to get the best deal for this football club and I`ve got people working behind the scenes to push things through so we can get the right deal for us.

'But, if he doesn`t go then that`s great because we`ve got a fantastic player still with us but, if he does go, then I know where I stand with everything else. We`ve got options up front but, I think it`s fair to say, that no one will be satisfied unless we get someone in. And, if he does go I`m hoping we can get someone else in.

'I`ve been making enquiries and spoken to a lot of players and clubs but the problem is that everyone is after centre-forwards so it`s going to be difficult to replace him but we are working overtime to make sure we`ve got something ready if/and when he does go.`

Asked if he would be getting all the money from any Alfie deal that might happen, Scott said, 'I`ve spoken to the Chairman and it`s difficult with all the wage cap restrictions do prevent us having it all but I`ve been assured that I can have what I can out of it to be able to replace Alf and hopefully strengthen the squad.

'It`s a busy time looking at players and looking at what we need and making sure we can manage the budget properly but we are also hoping that Alfie doesn`t go.`
