RUFC - Scott message to Owls 'put up or shut up'

Rotherham United Manager, Andy Scott has been quiet about the 'Adam Le Fondre` situation - until today.

He told MillersPlayer earlier that he half expected Alfie to leave but would be very happy if he decided to stay.

Speaking on Radio Sheffield this evening, he sounded a little bit fed up with the rumours about his star striker and also with Sheffield Wednesday.

He issued a 'pay up or shut up` statement to the Owls saying, 'Sheffield Wednesday are fully aware and understand what we want and they have to make a proper bid. They keep changing the offer slightly but nothing significant.

'They have to pay proper money for a proper player who scores proper goals and stop offering peanuts. We haven`t moved the goalposts and Alfie knows we aren`t mucking him about.

'It`s upsetting my player and it`s unfair to our supporters and to Sheffield Wednesday supporters because they think their club are making bids for a player but the bids are not significant..

'Alfie has been professional throughout all this and he has not put in a transfer request. There`s not a lot going off regarding the local sides at the moment and so everyone is talking about us and Sheffield Wednesday and are making up rumours.`

As a parting shot, Scott said, 'If I was Alfie, given the interest of other clubs, I wouldn`t take what Sheffield Wednesday are offering.`

And Sheffield Wednesday`s reply to this came from Manager, Gary Megson, who said, 'I can`t respond to that.`

Wow!!! What a comment from Megson. I beleive there's not only Owls involved and this may be a wild goose when some of the rumoured clubs are considered. Who should he go to if he's going?

Somewhere where he'll get games and not just be sat on the bench.
