'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - View from the opposition - Gillingham

Rotherham United Manager, Andy Scott said that his team responded well to the tough game on Saturday against Gillingham at Don Valley saying that he thought his lads were 'outstanding`.

Meanwhile, Gills boss, Andy Hessenthaler said he thought his side gave Rotherham the impetus.

Speaking to Gills Official Site after the three-nil loss, Hessenthaler said, 'We looked comfortable in the first half without making a lot of chances, which is probably what let us down.

'At half-time we said that we looked solid and were never really in any danger. We were on top but when you`re on top you have to punish teams and, unfortunately, we didn`t punish them.

'We gave them the impetus, gave them confidence and ended up losing the game.`

Hessenthaler wasn`t happy with the Millers first goal, which initially came from a Millers throw-in that should really have gone the visitors` way. 'That was clearly our throw I could see that from the other side of the pitch. But saying that, you can`t rely on officials and we should have defended better from then on. After conceding the first goal we ran out of ideas and looked a poor side.`
