'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Scott 'we won't be exploited'

Rotherham United always said that, if, Adam Le Fondre got his wish and went to a club in a higher division, that they had a 'Plan B` in force.

That plan was to go and sound out other clubs, players and players` agents before Alfie left which Millers Manager, Andy Scott has been busy doing and he hopes it has paid off and he will get someone in before the transfer window shuts.

Speaking to Les Payne of The Star, Scott said, 'It`s not going to be easy replacing Alf but we`ve made great strides and, hopefully, in the next forty-eight hours we`ll have someone in place.

'We`d been working hard so that if Alf went then we were in a position to move and I think we`ve offered fair deals for the players we want to bring in.`

Part of the deal of Alfie going to Reading has involved the Millers loaning Brett Williams from the Royals until January. But Scott said that he`s not a replacement for the departing striker but he feels he will be a presence up front.

Speaking about having money to spend on a player Scott warned, 'We are not going to be exploited because we`ve got some money. We are a League Two club and we have a wage structure and the player has to fit in with the rest of the squad and also complement it.`
