RUFC - Loan striker happy to be here

Rotherham United's latest recruit, Brett Williams said that joining the Millers is a great opportunity to get first team football.

Speaking to MillersPlayer the twenty-three year old striker, who has signed on loan with the Millers until January from Reading said, 'When I first joined Reading I got injured so I haven't managed to play for the first team yet. I've got myself fit again and played a number of reserve games but this is a great opportunity for me to play league football.'

Brett made a big step up from playing for non-league Eastleigh FC to Reading and said he thinks he's learned from that, saying that training every day was the biggest difference. 'It was a big step and, hopefully being here will push me on even more. I think the injury came from stepping up but I'm over that now and I'm probably the fittest I've ever been.'

Brett was asked how he'd learned about the loan move, and said, 'Brian McDermott (Reading Manager) phoned me on Friday night and said there was a great opportunity for me to go out on loan. He then said about Rotherham and I said 'yes' straight away.'

Asked what he will bring to Rotherham United, Brett said, 'I'm a goal scorer and I'm quick and good in the air and I can hold the ball up. I think I've got a bit of everything that a striker needs.

'If I can get anywhere near Adam Le Fondre's goal record it will be great. I managed to have a word with him before I came here and he said Rotherham are a good club. He did well here and hopefully I can fill his boots.'
