RUFC - Scott praises Harrison

Rotherham United Manager, Andy Scott has nothing but praise for midfielder Danny Harrison after the three-nil win on Saturday against Gillingham.

Speaking to The Advertiser, Scott said, 'When I first came here I asked Paul Warne why Danny wasn`t in the side because I`d always liked him.

'A lot of times people go away from the game and wondered what he`s done but we know what he`s done. He understands the game and is tenacious. He gets on the ball for you and does all the scruffy stuff. He`s valuable to my side and is fantastic in the air. He keeps it simple when the ball is at his feel and I think he`s looking a very good player.`

I`ve got to say that I`ve got two footballing friends who are often at (friendly) loggerheads over Danny Harrison. One thinks he`s useless and the other thinks he`s great and does a lot off the ball. I sat with neither of them last weekend and I kept a bit of an eye on Mr Harrison and I didn`t think he had a particularly great game. Granted he got himself in a great position to head the first goal in but from then on he seemed not to be able to play a forward pass.

But, I`m not a manager - and he`s played under three at Rotherham and they can`t all be wrong! So I really hope he goes out this Saturday, in front of the television camera`s, and has a brilliant game.

He's a good player in my view, would rather have him on our side than the oppositions in this league.

He seems to be one of those players that fans like or don't like - no sort of inbetween.
