'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Revell happy with his performance

Rotherham United double scorer, Alex Revell said that the team have to bounce back after losing to Swindon on Saturday.

Speaking to MillersPlayer about his two debut goals, the former Leyton Orient striker said, 'It was nice to get a couple of goals but it was a really disappointing result. If you get two goals in an away game you really want to be coming out with something, so it is disappointing.

'The lads have been on a great run and we've got to bounce back which is what good teams do. I've only been here two days but I can already see that there are a good bunch of lads here and we've got people who want to win and get promoted which is the important thing.

'The first half was a bit of a non-event to be honest, every time there was a challenge the referee blew-up and it was stop-start, stop-start and we knew we should have gone in at half-time one-up. But at one-all you are still in the game and you want to kick on from there. And then we went two-one up and maybe the sending off affected the game but that's what happens in football and we've got to be able to react to that and grind out a result. But, the positive thing is that we've been on a great run and the best thing to do is go and get a win on Saturday and forget about this result. It's a shame we didn't get a win but we can work hard this week and if we can get six points from the next two games we can forget about this and move on.

'I was pleased with my all round game today and I think if I work hard the goals will come. The Manager and everyone has been brilliant with me since I came and I've felt really welcome and that matters when you come to a new club because the sooner you can fit in you are a lot more confident'

Speaking about his two goals, Alex said, 'Luckily for me the ball was put into the box because, as a centre-forward, that's all I can ask for and if I miss the chances then that's down to me but I scored two today but it would have been nice for them to be winning goals. But we can't be too down because we are still up there.'
