It is that time of the week again, where we update Vital Football users on the The Great Football Experiment... so many bits to update on I`m not sure where to begin. At the start maybe?!
So, to re-cap, what is The Great Football Experiment?
Basically a Sunday League team called Ivory FC was selected via a voting process that we don`t have to worry our pretty little heads about to be trained by the England coaches and to get the wealth of knowledge from Terry Venables, Ray Wilkins and Ray Clemence MBE in order to prove, Preparation Is Everything.
The story so far:
Clemence told Nivea For Men: 'The preparation these guys are going to have is as close to being a professional as you're ever going to get. But can they beat a team of England legends? It's going to fun finding out.'
Terry 'El Tel` Venables said: 'It's not going to be easy, but if the lads listen, learn and put in 100% commitment, we might just surprise a few people.'
Ray 'was he the voice of the tango man?` Wilkins, who has actually lined up with Ivory and played with them v a team of celebrities added: 'Top Teams' success is built on preparation. So it's going to be interesting to see what a similar level of prep will do for an amateur side'
They have already been coached on possession, goalkeeping and defending as a team. We`ll be bringing the video clips of those coaching tips to Vital Nivea.
As you will see from their pre-season, they took a 10-0 loss last year to a 3-1 this season...! And then, in their first game of the season they came from behind to win. So, the coaching his having an effect already.
And the end game?
They will get to play against a team of England legends.
And for you? Well, we`ll get some goodie bags from Nivea and hopefully some more prizes for some competitions as this experiment develops.
On our blog you`ll be able to enjoy caption competitions, daft videos, some great coaching tips (see: Ray Clemence Coaches The Bear!), predictions from the Ivory boys and if all else fails, you`ll also get an elephant.. not for keeps though you understand?
Don`t forget to visit The Great Football Experiment... and join in on our official blog site.... www.nivea.vitalfootball.co.uk.
Oh and have a go on our Caption Competition, you could win a goodie bag...! Click Here
Is it all serious? What do you think... this is Vital!!!!!!!!
Yup, that was me keeping things brief!
We noticed one user say we`ve not directed readers to the site very well. So we can remedy that easily!
The full information is available at The Great Football Experiment where you can see all the episodes, find out about the team, read about the coaches and so much more. We`ll keep a button advert on the right hand side of all pages for easy access for you folks... we are kind like that!
Vital is proud to be hosting the Vital Nivea blog for the experiment... for that just Click Here. This is where you can join in, your usual site logins will work. Enjoy the banter with us and the Ivory boys. We`ve not done anything like this at Vital before but we think it is a great experiment.
