RUFC - Mullins back in training

RUFC - Mullins back in training

Rotherham United`s Johnny Mullins is ready to start contact training after being sidelined with a knee injury since April.

The twenty-five year old former Reading and Stockport County defender/midfielder got what, caretaker manager, Andy Liddell, said was 'a serious knee injury` during a training session which left him in a lot of pain and that he had to have an operation on. It was thought, at the time, that Mullins wouldn`t be back until at least Christmas but, with him beginning training next week, it should be sooner than that.

Speaking to The Star, Millers Manager, Andy Scott said, 'Johnny will start contact training with the rest of the squad next week and we are hoping to get him involved in the reserves for the game against Port Vale on 19 September.

'He has worked really hard and his attitude to rehabilitation has been fantastic. He is a very experienced, level headed professional and it`s good to have him round the other lads. It will be good to have him back.`
