'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Scott will put strong team out in JPT

Rotherham United were drawn against Sheffield United in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy last weekend and Millers Manager, Andy Scott says, for him, it's an unusual draw.

Speaking to MillersPlayer after the draw, Scott, who used to play for the Blades, said, 'It's a terrific draw. But it's unusual with us playing in Sheffield and being the home side against Sheffield United.

'I'm sure there will be a big interest about the game and we will be putting out a strong side because we want to progress. It's a good competition to be in and really, our only realistic chance of getting to Wembley in a cup competition. So we want to try and do as well as we can.'

Last season, Scott got his Brentford side to one game away from Wembley in the competition but was dismissed before they got to the final, where they lost to Carlisle one-nil with Scott saying, 'That's life; that's football. And it makes me more determined to be successful and do it again.'

The game at Don Valley is on Tuesday, 4th October and tickets, for season ticket holders, go on sale tomorrow (Monday, 12th September) at Barbot Hall and go on general sale the week after.
Sheffield United got to the second round by beating Burton Albion 2-1 while the Millers were granted a bye.
