RUFC - Scott here to improve the team

Rotherham United Manager, Andy Scott has told his first team players that if they don`t do as he asked they will be left out of the side.

Although winning on Saturday Scott wasn`t happy at all with his players in the second half, who, he said, seemed to do their own thing and not follow instructions.

Speaking to Dom Howson of The Star, Scott said, 'I`m here to improve, to get better and for the team to keep moving forwards. Saturday wasn`t good enough. We can`t afford to lose ground on anyone and we need to keep pushing forward.

'I don`t care if I fall out with people. I have no interest in that. I want to win the games and get promoted. That is the only focus for me. If I fall out with people, then at the end of the season when we are celebrating and have got a medal around their neck, I`m sure they will forgive me - if they don`t then they can move on elsewhere and enjoy their football with somebody else.

'My job is to get this club promoted going and no one is going to stop me doing that.`

Asked about loan players, Scott said that he is willing to let some of his fringe players go out on loan to get some match fitness. 'We haven`t a great deal of reserve games but it`s important that players are ready and raring to go when needed so it may be that we let them out now to get some games in and something might happen this week.`

Players who are short of match fitness are the likes of Johnny Mullins, who is just coming back from a serious knee injury, young Ollie Banks and Luke Foster.
