'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Opposition striker 'all fired up'

Rotherham United have been warned before the game with Southend today by a striker who had a 'short` trial with the Millers in the summer.

Short being the operative word because Liam Dickinson, now with the Shrimpers, only stayed with the Millers for twenty-four hours before Rotherham Manager, Andy Scott decided he wasn`t what he was looking for.

Speaking to The Yorkshire Post, the former Barnsley and Leeds striker said, 'I trained with them and we opened talks but their manager had a last-minute feeling that I wasn`t the signing for him.`

Scoring in his last three games, the twenty-five year old said, 'It would be nice to keep my run going, especially against Rotherham. I will be fired up and I feel I`ve got a point to prove.`

Dickinson came to train with the Millers the day before they squad left for a pre-season break abroad and Andy Scott told MillersPlayer, 'I didn`t feel it was the right thing for him to come with us. He went on to pastures new and that`s life.`
